January-August 2011 Textile and Garment exports in Fujian amounted to US$ 10.87 billion

According to the latest statistics from Fujian Fuzhou Customs, in the first eight months of this year, Fujian's foreign trade volume totaled 88.03 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year increase of 27.3%. Among them, 31.11 billion US dollars of imports, an increase of 32.6%; exports of 56.92 billion US dollars, an increase of 24.5%.

Most traditional merchandise exports maintained a good momentum of growth. Exports of textiles and garments were US$ 10.87 billion, up 44.6% year-on-year; footwear exports were US$ 5.89 billion, up 28.4% year-on-year; luggage exports were US$ 1.54 billion, up 29.4% year-on-year. Among imported goods, imports of primary products grew rapidly, with imports of US$9.79 billion, a year-on-year increase of 58.9%.
