Nike is expected to become the national football federation clothing manufacturer

Nike Inc. is likely to become the official uniform of the National Football League and the manufacturer of off-site apparel.

According to CNBC reported on the 11th, the transaction will need to obtain the consent of the team owner.

UnderArmour Inc. will retain limited clothing rights, especially the National Football League's comprehensive testing.

Since 2001, the National Football Association’s apparel agreement has been signed with Reebok International Ltd.

Nike lost to Reebok on this contract in 2001. Reebok reportedly paid 300 million U.S. dollars to this 10-year right, and the agreement expires at the end of next season.

This competition is very fierce. It is between Nike and Adidas. Adidas currently owns Reebok and UnderArmour.

Nike officials said that the company is negotiating with the National Football League, but can not comment on ongoing negotiations.

Adidas is currently a clothing supplier for the National Basketball Association. Chief Executive Officer Herbert Hainer said in September that if someone bids more, he will accept it because losing the National Football Association's apparel agreement will not be critical for the company.

If Nike wins, the industry will no doubt closely observe the fans' reaction.
